MoMu to Stage Off-Site Exhibition Dedicated to Belgian Textile Artists

CRAFTY: The main Nationalestraat building of Antwerp fashion museum MoMu may be under renovation through 2020, but that doesn’t mean the institution is dormant.
On Sept. 28, the museum will open its first show on a subject other than fashion at the city’s Maurice Verbaet Center, dedicated to Belgian modern art.
Titled “SOFT? Tactile Dialogues,” the exhibition will present an array of textiles from the MoMu collection, with a focus on Belgian textile artists from the Seventies and Eighties. Suzannah Olieux, “Welvaart en verval,” 1975, MoMu Collectie.
 
The work of talents including Veerle Dupont, Suzannah Olieux, Liberta Ferket and Belgian-Polish artist Tapta will be showcased alongside contemporary artists such as Kati Heck, Nel Aerts and Kirstin Arndt. The show will wrap on Feb. 24, 2019.
